Visiting 30 Godown of Barisal

Location and travel

Barisal is opposite Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital and is situated on the banks of Kirtankhola river. It is possible to go from Barisal city by rickshaw in a very short time

On the afternoon of Friday (August 23), the second day of the three-day training of the Climate Forum, 5 of us from Cox's Bazar went to see 30 godowns. I reached by autorickshaw around 5:30 pm.

As far as I know from talking to the locals, 30 Godown is a huge place on the banks of Kirtankhola river in Barisal, where various products are stored in many godowns. However, no one has been able to say for sure whether there are 30 godowns at all.

A road to the left from the side of the godown gate ends at the river bank. Another road went straight. I thought I would go straight to the road first. A little further along the road I saw a small bridge.

The river water is dirty. Cox's Bazar could not match the clarity of the sea water. The water hyacinth of the river is running randomly. However, during the monsoon season, the river is full of water, so it is free from dirt, so a better environment is created. In the tumultuous youth of his chest, the small boats in the middle are going up and down again.

The banks of the river are paved and lighting is provided so that you can enjoy the river at night. There are many fast food shops along the river. Usually there are more Singara, Fuska, Jhalmuri, Achar tea shops. As a result, this place becomes more beautiful at night. Seeing all this, night came down. I finally left the place at 8 pm.
