সকল প্রসংশা মহান আল্লাহর জন্য। আসসালামু আলাইকুম। আমার প্রিয় বন্ধুরা আপনারা কেমন আছেন? আশা করি আল্লাহর রহমতে অনেক ভালো আছেন। আমি ও আপনাদের দোয়ায় ভালো আছি। আবার ও হাজির হলাম এক নতুন বিষয় নিয়ে। বিষয়টি হচ্ছেঃ কেউ কারো জন্য অপেক্ষা করে না।
সময় এবং নদীর স্রোত কারও জন্য অপেক্ষা করে না। মুখের কথা আর ধনুকের তীর একবার ছুটে গেলে আর ফেরে না। এই ধরনের অনেক কথা আমাদের দেশে প্রচলিত আছে। কিন্তু এগুলো সব প্রাচীনকালের ধারণা। বর্তমান যুগ হলো বিজ্ঞানের যুগ। পরীক্ষা নিরিক্ষা দ্বারা এসব প্রাচীন ধারণা মিথ্যা প্রমাণ করে দেওয়া যায়। আমরা তা–ই দেব।
১ নাম্বার হলোঃ তুমি যে টিউব থেকে টুথপেস্ট বের করো, সেই টুথপেষ্টটা আর সেই টিউবে ঢোকানো সম্ভব নয়।
আমি এই কাজটা প্রায়ই করে থাকি। প্রথমে বেশি করে পেস্ট বের করে ফেলি। তারপর পেস্টের মধ্যে ওই টিউবের মুখটা ধরি। আস্তে করে চাপ দিয়ে টিউবটা ফোলাতে থাকি, টুথপেস্ট টিউবে ঢুকে পড়ে।
২ নাম্বার টা হলোঃ ধনুক থেকে ছুটে যাওয়া তীর কখনো ফিরিয়ে আনা যায় না।
এটা না যাওয়ার কোনো কারণই নেই। ধনুকের তীর আর কত দূরই বা যাবে। যে কেউ দৌড়ে গিয়ে তীরটা কুড়িয়ে আনতে পারবে বা কোনো বাচ্চা ছেলেকে ওই কাজে লাগিয়ে দিলে সে প্রতিবার তীর নিক্ষেপের পর দৌড়ে গিয়ে তা ফিরিয়ে আনতে পারবে। তাই ধনুক এর তীর ছুটে গেলে তা ফিরিয়ে আনা সম্ভব।
৩ নাম্বারটা হলোঃ সময় ও নদীর স্রোত কারও জন্য অপেক্ষা করে না। আসলে কি জানেন, করাতে চাইলেই করে।
প্রথমে আসি সময়ে, আগে মনে করা হতো, সময় একধারে বয়েই চলেছে। কিন্তু আইনস্টাইনের থিওরি অব রিলেটিভিটির পর আমরা সবাই জানতে পারি যে, সময় আসলে আপেক্ষিক। এই সময় সারা বিশ্বজগতে একইভাবে বয়ে চলে না। "স্টিফেন হকিংয়ের আ ব্রিফ হিস্ট্রি অব টাইম" এই বইয়ে আছে। আপনারা হয়তো জেনে থাকবেন, দুটি যমজ ছেলের একটাকে রাখা হলো সমুদ্রসৈকতে, আরেকটা কে রাখা হলো পাহাড়ের এক চূড়ায়। অনেক বছর পর দেখা যাবে, সেই দুইটি ছেলের বয়স দুই রকম হয়েছে। কারণ হলো, উচ্চতাভেদে সময়ের গতিও ভিন্ন। হকিং বলেছিলেন, এটা কোনো কাল্পনিক কাহিনি নয়। স্যাটেলাইট থেকে যখন সিগন্যাল পাঠানো হয়, তখন একেক উচ্চতায় সময় যে একেক গতিতে চলছে, তা হিসাবের মধ্যে নিয়েই পাঠানো হয়।
আইজ্যাক আসিমভের একটা সায়েন্স ফিকশন আছে। শেক্সপিয়ার টাইম এই মেশিনে চড়ে বর্তমানের পৃথিবীতে চলে আসেন। তিনি একটা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ইংরেজি সাহিত্যের ক্লাসে ঢুকে পড়েন। আর সেই ক্লাসে শেক্সপিয়ার বিষয়েই পড়ানো হচ্ছিল।
শেক্সপিয়ার সেই ক্লাসে ঢুকে পড়েন। তিনি বাধ্য ছাত্রের মতো ক্লাস করেন। তারপর পরীক্ষা, এখন শেক্সপিয়ারও পরীক্ষায় অংশগ্রহণ করেন এবং তিনি সেই পরীক্ষায় ফেল করেন।
কাজেই সময় কারও জন্য অপেক্ষা করে না, এই উক্তিটি ঠিক নয়। আরো একটা আছে যে, আলো সব সময় সরলরেখার মতো সোজা চলে, আসলে এটাও ঠিক নয়। বিজ্ঞানী আইনস্টান বলেছেন, আলো যখন কোনো এক বড় গ্রহের পাশ দিয়ে যায়, তখন সেই গ্রহের টানে আলো বেঁকে যায়। সে আরও বলেছিলেন, সূর্যগ্রহণের সময় এই বাঁক দেখতে পাওয়া যাবে। তাঁর এই সব কথাগুলো সত্য বলে প্রমাণিত হয়েছে। সূর্যগ্রহণের দিন দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকায় গিয়ে কিছু বৈজ্ঞানিকেরা প্রমাণ করেছেন যে, আলো বেঁকে যায়।
এবার আসা যাক পরের টায় ‘নদীর স্রোত কারও জন্য অপেক্ষা করে না’—এই কথায়। আসলে বাঁধ দিলেই নদীর স্রোত অপেক্ষা করে।
এই রকম নদী আমি অনেক দেখেছি। নদী সমুদ্রে গিয়ে মিশছে। আমরা সবাই জানি, নদীর উচ্চতা আর সমুদ্রের উচ্চতা এক নয়। তো একদিন আমরা জাহাজে করে যাচ্ছি। প্রথমে জাহাজটা একটা খালে ঢোকানো হয়। তারপরেই খালের মুখটা বন্ধ করে দেওয়া হয়। তারপর জোয়ার আসতে আসতে সেই খালের পানির উচ্চতা বেড়ে সমুদ্রের সমান হয়। তখন খালের মুখ খুলে দেওয়া হয়। কাজেই মানুষ চাইলেই নদীর গতিপথ বদলে দিতে পারে। নদীর স্রোতকে নিজের মর্জিমতো বইয়ে দিতে বা থামিয়ে দিতে পারে।
এটা নির্ভর করে কিসের উপরে জানেন? আপনার ক্ষমতার ওপরে। আপনার যদি সেই রকম কোনো ক্ষমতা থেকে থাকে, তাহলে আপনি অবশ্যই নদীর স্রোতকে নিয়ন্ত্রণ করতে পারবেন।
