Taliban Fighting in Afghanistan

 

In my last post, I explained in detail how the Taliban came to Afghanistan and why they occupied Afghanistan by force. Today I will give some information about the Taliban.

Let me tell you some facts about Taliban. Recently before takeover (1996-2001), Taliban was in the power of Afghanistan. But the universally recognised government of Afghanistan (2001-2021) was never recognised by Taliban. Though they had an agreement called Doha Agreement 2020. They had several internal assembly. Afghan Taliban and Pakistani Taliban are two different entites. 

On 11 September, 2020 Donald Trump planned to remove US troop from Afghanistan. But on July, 2020 House Armed Service deprived him from the power. Because Afghanistan was facing many military attacks which was worse than last 19 years. Even civilians wear murdered. For this reason he was not allowed to do so.

Now let's come who gave officially recognization to Taliban. The Government of Taliban of 1996 to 2001 was supported by only three countries. 

             1. Pakistan

             2. Saudi Arab.

             3. United Arab Emirates.

At present the governments who are supporting Taliban are Turkey, China, Pakistan and Iran. Canada and UK declared that they won't support at all. Russia and India didn't give any special comment.

If you think from the perspective of Bangladesh, in 2010 US told Bangladesh to send troops in Afghanistan but Bangladesh didn't agree. But NGO's of Bangladesh like BRAC has been working in Afghanistan for last 20 years. Foreign minister said- if the government is democratic, they will be always welcome in Bangladesh. But chief of CTTC Mohammad Assaduzzaman said- if any taleban supported takes inspiration from them and wants to take any aggressive events, they won't be allowed.

 

Let me show you a comparative analysis of Taliban and Afghan military. If the size is considered, Afghan military is almost 3times bigger than Taliban. But according to the funding, Taliban gets are great economic funding. But according to the recent news, has been following the military tactics for a long time. This matter was not quite focused which was a brilliant move from Taliban.

 

THEORY OF MILITARY COHESION: 

       Casilo has a military theory called Theory of Cohesion. It has two points.

                                1. How strong the military is on the battlefield.

                                2. What is the attitude at the time of losing.

There are 4 points for Afghan military.

1. Taliban isolated Afghan Military which is Casilo theory's 2nd point. This isolation was both physically and mentally. The Afghan government or Ashraf Ghani occoupied small checkpoints in Afghanistan. And Taliban firstly over these check points. Communication at the ground level had been much weaker. When you put a military force in this situation, the food supply that they have will be cut off. You cannot even supplies the machinery and equipment. There was a time when Afghan Air Force planes were damaged by technical errors in maintenance rather than by enemy shelling. 
2. Spreading proganda targeting Cohesion. This thing is a lot like psychological warfare, Modern twists like this are from the Taliban was unexpected. But they spread Russian style Ware Propaganda. First, the Afghan military brought in different people and gave them Hobson's choice. Hobson's Choice is you either survive by surrendering, or die. Various propaganda was being spread with fake accounts and bots. 70% of Afghan population has mobile. So if it spreads, Afghanistan is getting a big profit. They spread the video of the surrendered Afghan Military Force in groups on social media. Now think of another Afghan soldier who is watching. He has no food, no bullets. He is fighting for an Afghan government that the government itself does not know what they are actually doing. In some places he had to give bribe. Why would he fight for this military force at such a time? It's not morally justified to you. So from a psychological point of view, the Afghan military has been destroyed since long by the Taliban so that they can no longer stand.
3. Third Strategy, Kill and Camp. Afghanistan, however, consists of many large tribes or groups. The group's leaders targeted and assassinated those who opposed the Taliban. And specifically the pilots have been killed. Because the Taliban knew that if these pilots are killed, the Afghan Air Force will automatically collapse.
4. Taking time in the name of negotiations for the sake of international community and gradually limiting the military power of others. The Taliban was in negotiation with the United States and the Afghan government. In each case, they have been asking for US military power to reduce and not attack in any of their decisions. It was Biden who finally lifted the troop. Without this long-term procedure, the Taliban would not have been able to isolate the Afghan military so easily. Even they could not take over Kabul that fast. Although we see the capture of Kabul happened very soon, there is a very long-term story tactic behind this.
