অন্তর্বর্তী সরকার যেকোনো ধরণের ধর্মীয় উস্কানিমূলক বক্তব্য ও সুফী দরগা গুলোতে হামলার কঠোর নিন্দা জানাই। সরকার এই দেশকে শান্ত্রীপূর্ণ দেখতে চায় যেকোনো সময়ে। দেশের শান্তি শৃঙ্খলা বিনষ্টকারীদের বিরুদ্ধে সরকারের কট্টর অবস্থানে থাকবে সব সময়। জনাব মাহফুজ ১৫ সেপ্টেবর তার ও আগে এইটা প্রধান উপদেষ্টার কার্যালয়ে এইটা স্টেটমেন্ট দিয়েছিলেন ০৭ সেপ্টেম্বর নিজের ফেসবুক পোস্টে নিজেই হুঁশিয়ারি দিয়েছিলেন আমি একটু পড়ি ০৭ সেপ্টেম্বর প্রধান উপদেষ্টার উপদেষ্টা মাহফুজ বলেছেন মাজারের বিভিন্ন তরিকা ও মাসআলায় চলা প্রতিষ্টান কে যারা ধ্বংস করতে চাই তাদের অতি শীঘ্রই এই কাজ বন্ধ করতে হবে। আজ মাজার ভাঙবে কাল সত্য পীরদের দরগা ভাঙা হবে পরশু ভিন্ন তরিকার মসজিদ ভাঙা হবে এইসব নৈরাজ্য যারা করে বেড়াচ্ছেন তারা ইসলাম ও বাংলাদেশের বিরুদ্ধে দাঁড়াচ্ছেন। বাংলাদেশের জনগণকে এদের বিরুদ্ধে রুখে দাঁড়াতে হবে ইসলামের বৈচিত্র রক্ষা করতেই হবে।
