এক জঙ্গলে বাঘ, শিয়াল আর গাধা থাকতো । একদিন বাঘ শিয়লকে ধরে ফেলল, ধরেই বলল এখন তোকে খাব । শিয়াল তো ভয়ে কান্না করার মত অবস্থা । শিয়াল একটু বুদ্ধি করে বাঘের কাছে বলতে লাগল, আমাকে খাবেন না, আমি সারা জীবন আপনার গোলাম হয়ে থাকবো । আপনি যা বলবেন আমি তাই শুনবো ।
বাঘ চিন্তা করল, একটা গোলাম পাওয়া গেল, এখন থেকে ওকে দিয়েই সব কাজ করাবো । বাঘ বলল ঠিক আছে আমার জন্য একটা পশু শিকার করে নিয়ে আয় । শিয়াল চলে গেল শিকার করতে, কিন্তু খুব চিন্তায় পরে গেল, কি শিকার করে আনবে ? হঠাৎ তার গাধার কথা মনে পরল । মনে আসতেই সে গাধার কাছে চলে গেল ।
শিয়াল গাধার কাছে গিয়ে বলল, গাধা ভাই, বনের রাজা বাঘ তোমাকে খুজতেছে, তোমার জন্য একটা পুরস্কার রেখেছে, সেই পুরস্কার রাজা তোমাকে নিজ হাতে দিবে । গাধা শুনে তো মহা খুশি, গাধা বলল চল তাড়াতাড়ি ।
শিয়াল গাধাকে নিয়ে বাঘের কাছে গেল । গাধা বাঘের কাছে যেতেই থাবা দিয়ে গাধাকে ধরার চেষ্টা কর, কিন্তু গাধা দৌড়ে পালিয়ে গেল । এবার বাঘ রেগে গিয়ে শিয়ালকে বলল, কেমন শিকার নিয়ে এসেছিস যে পালিয়ে গেল, তাড়াতাড়ি যা গাধাকে নিয়ে আয়, তা নাহলে তোকেই খাব ।
শিয়াল গাধার কাছে গিয়ে বলল, তুমি কি বোকা নাকী? বাঘ তোমাকে পুরস্কার দেবে এই জন্য একটু কোলাকুলি করতে চাইলো আর তুমি পালিয়ে এলে ? গাধা বলল, ও আচ্ছা তাই নাকি? আমি তো মনে করছি, আমাকে খাওয়ার জন্য ধরতে আসছে, চল তাহলে, এবার আর পালাবো না ।
শিয়াল আর গাধা বাঘের কাছে গেল, এবার আর গাধা পালালো না । বাঘ মনে আনন্দে গাধাকে ধরে মেরে ফেলল । মারার পর শিয়ালকে বলল তুই একটু পাহারা দে, আমি একটু ঘুরে আসি ।
বাঘ চলে যাওয়ার সাথে সাথে শিয়াল গাধার রক্ত আর মগজ খেয়ে ফেলল । কিছুক্ষণ পর বাঘ এসে দেখে গাধার রক্ত নাই, আবার মগজও নাই । বাঘ শিয়ালকে জিজ্ঞেস করল, গাধার রক্ত আর মগজ কোথায় ? শিয়াল বলল আপনি বনের রাজা, গাধা আপনার কাছে আসার কারণে ভয়ে গাধার রক্ত পানি হয়ে গেছে । আর আপনাকে দেখে যদি ভয়ে রক্ত পানি না হয়, তাহলে আপনি কিসের রাজা ? বাঘ চিন্তা করল কথা তো ঠিকই আছে ।
বাঘ আবার বলল, মগজ কোথায় ? শিয়াল বলল, গাধার মাথায় কোন মগজ ছিল না । গাধার মাথায় যদি মগজই থাকতো, তাহলে আপনার কাছে দ্বিতীয়বার আসতো না । বাঘ চিন্তা করল কথা তো ঠিকই আছে । এবার বাঘ কিছু না বলে গাধার মাংস খাওয়া শুরু করল ।
এই গল্প থেকে আমরা দুইটা জিনিস শিখতে পারি ।
১. বুদ্ধি থাকলে অনেক কঠিন কাজও খুব সহজে করা যায় ।
২. বর্তমান সময়ে আমাদের এলাকায় এমন কিছু লোক আছে যাদের প্রশংসা করলে খুব খুশি হয় । এমনকি যদি অবাস্তব কোন কিছুও প্রশংসা করা হয়, তাও মেনে নিয়ে খুব খুশি হয় ।

In one forest there were tigers, foxes and donkeys. One day the tiger caught the fox and told him to eat you now. The fox is like crying in fear. The fox said to the tiger, "Don't eat me, I will be your slave for the rest of my life." I will listen to whatever you say.
The tiger thought, a slave has been found, from now on I will do all the work with him. The tiger said, "All right, hunt an animal for me and bring it." The fox went to hunt, but after much thought went, what to hunt? Suddenly I remembered his donkey. As soon as he remembered, he went to the donkey.
The fox went to the donkey and said, donkey brother, the king of the forest, the tiger is looking for you, he has set a reward for you, that reward the king will give you in his own hand. I am very happy to hear the donkey, the donkey said let's hurry.
The fox took the donkey to the tiger. As soon as the donkey approached the tiger, try to grab the donkey by the paw, but the donkey ran away. This time the tiger got angry and said to the fox, "What kind of prey did you bring that escaped? If you bring the donkey soon, I will eat you."
The fox went to the donkey and said, are you stupid or not? The tiger wanted to give you a hug to reward you and you ran away? The donkey said, "Okay, is that so?" I think he's going to catch me for eating, so let's not run away this time.
The fox and the donkey went to the tiger, but this time the donkey did not run away. The tiger happily grabbed the donkey and killed it. After killing, he said to the fox, "You watch a little, I'll turn around a little."
As soon as the tiger left, the fox ate the donkey's blood and brain. After a while, the tiger came and saw that the donkey had no blood and no brain. The tiger asked the fox, where is the donkey's blood and brain? The fox said you are the king of the forest, the donkey's blood has turned to water for fear of the donkey coming to you. And if blood is not water for fear of seeing you, then you are the king of what? The tiger thought it was all right.
The tiger said again, where is the brain? The fox said the donkey had no brain. If a donkey had a brain, it would not come to you a second time. The tiger thought it was all right. This time the tiger started eating donkey meat without saying anything.
We can learn two things from this story.
1. Many difficult tasks can be done very easily if you have intelligence.
2. At present there are some people in our area who are very happy to be appreciated. Even if something unrealistic is appreciated, they are happy to accept it.
