পঞ্চম ধাপের ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ নির্বাচন _Fifth stage union council election_

গতকাল বৃহস্পতিবার, অনুষ্ঠিত হয়ে গেল পঞ্চম ধাপের ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ নির্বাচন, এই ধাপে আমাদের কাজিপুর উপজেলার ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ নির্বাচন ছিল। গতকালের পোস্টে বলেছি, আমাদের কাজিপুরে মোট ইউনিয়ন সংখ্যা ১১টি। এই ১১টি ইউনিয়নে মোট কেন্দ্র ১২৬টি, মোট বুথ ৬৫০টি।

কাজিপুর উপজেলার মোট ভোটার সংখ্যা ২ লাখ ৮ হাজার ৭৪২ জন, এর মধ্যে মোট পুরুষ ভোটার সংখ্যা ১ লাখ ১ হাজার ৮৫৯ জন, আর নারী ভোটার সংখ্যা ১ লাখ ৬ হাজার ৮৮৩ জন।

কাজিপুর উপজেলার ৩নং ইউনিয়ন হচ্ছে আমাদের গান্ধাইল ইউনিয়ন, এই গান্ধাইল ইউনিয়নের ১নং ওয়ার্ড হচ্ছে আমাদের ওয়ার্ড (পূর্ব খুকশিয়া, পাটাগ্রাম), আমাদের ১নং ওয়ার্ডে মোট ভোটার সংখ্যা ১৫৭৫ জন। এর মধ্যে পুরুষ ভোটার সংখ্যা ৮৯২ জন, আর নারী ভোটার সংখ্যা ৬৮৩ জন। এই ১৫৭৫ জন ভোটারের মধ্যে গতকাল ভোট দিয়েছেন ১১৪৯ জন।

আমাদের ১নং ওয়ার্ডে মেম্বর প্রার্থী ছিল তিন জন, এর মধ্যে মোঃ আবু বকর সিদ্দিক ফুটবল মার্কা নিয়ে ৪৩২ ভোট পেয়ে জয়লাভ করেন। তার নিকটতম প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বি মোঃ রকিবুল আজম মোরগ মার্কা নিয়ে ৩৯৭ ভোট পান, এবং আমার বড় ভাই মোঃ শফিকুল ইসলাম তালুকদার টিউবওয়েল মার্কা নিয়ে ২৬২ ভোট পেয়ে তৃতীয় স্থান পান।

১, ২, ও ৩ নং ওয়ার্ডে সংরক্ষিত মহিলা সদস্য পদে মোট ৬জন মহিলা প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতা করেন। এই ৬ জনের মধ্যে আমাদের ১নং ওয়ার্ডে মাইক মার্কা নিয়ে প্রথম হন মোছাঃ ফাতেমা খাতুন, তিনি ভোট পান ৪৭৮টি। মোছাঃ লিপি খাতুন হেলিকপ্টার মার্কা নিয়ে ২৪১ ভোট, মোছাঃ জোছনা খাতুন কলম মার্কা নিয়ে ১৪৮ ভোট, মোছাঃ আনোয়ারা খাতুন বই মার্কা নিয়ে ১২২ ভোট, মোছাঃ শেফালি খাতুন তালগাছ মার্কা নিয়ে ৬৯ ভোট এবং মোছাঃ আলেয়া খাতুন সূর্যমুখী ফুল মার্কা নিয়ে পান ৩৯ ভোট।

গতকাল সকাল আটটার সময় ভোট গ্রহণ শুরু হয়ে বিকাল চারটা পর্যন্ত চলে। নির্বাচনের পুরা দিন সবার মাঝে উত্সবের আমেজ ছিল। সবাই উত্সব মুখর পরিবেশে ভোট দিয়েছে। ছোট বড় সবার মাঝেই ভোট নিয়ে অন্যরকম একটা আগ্রহ কাজ করেছে। অনেকে ঢাকা থেকে শুধু ভোট দেওয়ার জন্য আসছে।

গতকাল সুষ্ঠ, সুন্দর এবং নিরপেক্ষ নির্বাচন হয়েছে। আমি সকাল এগারোটা এর সময় ভোট দিয়েছি।

বিকাল পাঁচটার সময় ফলাফল ঘোষণা করা হয়, ঘোষণা শুনেই ফুটবল মার্কার সমর্থকরা আনন্দ মিছিল শুরু করে দেয়। সবার প্রতি নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে, নির্বাচনের জয় পরাজয়কে ঘিরে যেন কোন অপ্রীতিকর ঘটনা না ঘটে।

বিজয়ী প্রার্থীকে শুভেচ্ছা এবং পরাজিত প্রার্থীকে সমবেদনা জানিয়ে আজকের পোস্ট এখানেই শেষ করছি।

Yesterday, Thursday, the fifth phase of Union Parishad elections was held. In this phase, we had the Union Parishad elections of Kazipur Upazila. As I said in yesterday's post, the total number of unions in our Kazipur is 11. In these 11 unions, the total number of centers is 126 and the total number of booths is 650.

The total number of voters in Kazipur upazila is 2 lakh 8 thousand 642 people, out of which the total number of male voters is 1 lakh 1 thousand 759 people and the number of female voters is 1 lakh 6 thousand 63 people.

The 3rd union of Kazipur upazila is our Gandhail union, the 1st ward of this Gandhail union is our ward (East Khukshia, Patagram), the total number of voters in our 1st ward is 1585 people. The number of male voters is 692, and the number of female voters is 63. Out of these 1585 voters, 1149 people voted yesterday.

There were three member candidates in our 1st ward, out of which Md. Abu Bakar Siddique won with 432 votes. His nearest rival Md. Rakibul Azam got 398 votes with cock brand, and my elder brother Md. Shafiqul Islam Talukder got third place with 262 votes with Tubewell brand.

A total of 6 women contested for the reserved female member posts in wards 1, 2 and 3. Out of these 6, Fatima Khatun became the first in our 1st ward with Mike Marca. She got 478 votes. 241 votes for Lipi Khatun Helicopter brand, 146 votes for Jochna Khatun Pen brand, 122 votes for Anwara Khatun Book brand, 69 votes for Shefali Khatun Palm tree brand and Aleya Khatun Sunflower brand with 39 votes.

Voting started at 8 am yesterday and lasted till 4 pm. The whole day of the election was full of festive mood. Everyone voted in a festive atmosphere. There is a different kind of interest in voting among everyone, big or small. Many are coming from Dhaka just to vote.

Yesterday was a fair, beautiful and fair election. I voted at eleven o'clock in the morning.

The results were announced at 5 p.m. Everyone has been instructed that no untoward incident should take place around election victory or defeat.
