Winter breaks 43-year record

Although winter is less prevalent in different parts of the country, winter is not seen in January, the month of winter in the capital. However, this year has not been so cold across the country.

According to the Meteorological Department, the daytime temperature in Dhaka on Sunday (January 9) was 4 degrees Celsius higher than normal. January is the highest temperature in 43 years.

According to the Meteorological Department's observations, according to records kept by the Meteorological Department for the last 50 years, the maximum temperature during the day on December 9 is usually up to 24 degrees Celsius. But the highest temperature recorded in the capital on Sunday was 26.6 degrees Celsius.

44 years ago, in 1986, the maximum temperature in Dhaka today was higher than this; 34.2 degrees Celsius. But in no year since then has the daytime temperature risen above 26 degrees Celsius.

The highest temperature recorded in the country on Sunday was in Cox's Bazar, 31 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature recorded in Tentulia was 10 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature recorded in Dhaka was 26.8 degrees Celsius and the minimum was 16.5 degrees Celsius.
