Earlier on Saturday, samples of 33 people were tested and the corona of 5 new people was identified. The detection rate was 15.15 percent.

According to the District Civil Surgeon's Office, the first corona infection was detected on April 11, 2020 in Thakurgaon. In that year, 6,156 samples were tested in the district and corona was identified in the bodies of 1,461 people. The detection rate was 16.15 percent. 29 people died due to corona.

On the other hand, corona of 6,224 people was identified last year. That year, 213 people died of coronary heart disease. From the onset of corona infection till 31 December 2021, the total number of corona patients in the district stood at 6,605. A total of 242 people died in Corona.

As of Sunday 2022, corona has been identified in the bodies of 91 people in 539 sample tests. Compared to the sample test, the detection rate is 16.6 percent.

District Civil Surgeon Noor Newaz Ahmed said corona infection was on the rise in Thakurgaon. Indifference among people is one of the reasons for the upward trend of corona. In addition to the reduction in the use of masks and not following proper hygiene rules are also the reasons for the increase in the tendency to infection. To prevent corona infection, he advised everyone to be vaccinated and to use masks properly and to avoid public gatherings.
