Terrorists attacked Jamuna Television staff reporter Al Amin Haq Ahan in the Kanchan Bridge area of the capital's Rupganj. Police have arrested the main accused in that incident. The name of the attacker is Aslam Sarkar. He was attacked by terrorists on his way back from a trade fair on Saturday afternoon.
According to the police, the name of the arrested person is Saikat Islam Babu. Rupganj Police Station OC ASM Shahed confirmed that the main accused was arrested on Saturday night with the help of video footage and information technology.
The OC said the victim had filed a case under sections 323, 341, 306, 307, 369, 426 and 506 last night. Police OC (investigation) received a complaint before the case. Humayun Kabir Mollah was investigating.
He said the main accused was arrested from Rupganj Kanchan area around 10:30 pm on the basis of preliminary facts and with the help of information technology in the video analysis of the incident.
The OC said that it was first known after the incident that the attacker was Aslam Sarkar. But that is misinformation. The main attacker was Babu Aslam Sarkar, who was riding a registered motorcycle. Legal action is being taken against him.
