I heard the story from one of our teachers in school life. Once a schoolboy went to work in the field with his father. There he saw a dead snake being eaten by a frog. Although normally frogs do not eat snakes, snakes do eat frogs. When he got home he told his father and his father told him not to tell anyone else because no one would believe him. But he told this story to his classmate and everyone was surprised and bet with him that this could never be true. When they later came and told the boy's father, his father also denied the truth because if he had confessed, everyone would have called him a fool. The boy was very upset and decided to take revenge for losing the bet.
They had a goat in their house. He would leave the kids in the morning, take them in his arms, go to the pond, swim, and then feed the kids their mother's milk. In this way, for about a month, he would take a bath with such a kid, swim in the pond and take a bath, then come and feed him milk. From then on, whenever the kids were released, they would not go directly to the mother for milk, but would go to the pond, swim first, then come and take a bath and drink milk. This is absolutely surprising because it was possible due to long practice. It is normal for a baby goat to run to its mother before it is released, but here it is quite the opposite.
This time he went to his friend and told him that our kid should take a bath first and then go to his mother for milk. His friend said it was impossible. So he bet more this time because he had won the previous bet.
When the kid came home in the morning with the closure, the kid went to the pond, took a bath, swam and then went to his mother to get milk. That friend was embarrassed and lost. This friend later explained the previous incident in detail. Why and how the frogs were eating the snakes and how this work of the kid was possible.
There are four lessons to be learned from this story
The first one is: We see something externally and that seeing is not always true. We often see a building on fire or a major accident, but many times it is seen that a fire has actually started or something very different is hidden behind the accident. We do not want to accept anything except the usual rules. If we think it is unbelievable, we think it is not right. But if we look at the background of the incident or if we look at it better, we will understand that except for the normal rules, some incidents also happen in front of us as happened in the case of those frogs and snakes. Anyone who sees the matter outwardly will not believe it but when he understands the underlying matter he will also be forced to believe that the fact is true.
The 2nd lesson is: When we practice a task regularly for a long time, it is embedded in our mind. If we want to make a good habit a normal rule in our life, we have to practice that habit for a long time. As a result of the practice that has been done with the kid for a month, he has never made a mistake in his routine. After going to the pond and taking a bath, drinking milk has become his routine.
In the same way, if we want to develop a habit or change a bad habit, we can practice a task for a long time. Many studies have found that if we can do a single task for 40 days at a time, that task becomes very easy for us and it is difficult for us to think outside the box. Therefore, in the case of forming a habit, doing one task at a time is the direction of the experts. So if a habit or a good change is to be reflected in our life, we should keep practicing it for a long time and persevere.
The 3rd lesson is: Sometimes you have to be cunning to handle the situation. At first, if the boy's father had said that the frog ate the snake, then his son would have won the bet, but this would have ruined his son's stubbornness and creativity. He too was humiliated by the society. So you have to use your intellect and sometimes do tricks.
The 4th lesson is: Greed must be curbed. The friend boy won the first bet and thought that he would win again and get a lot of money. This thought made him greedy. Greed is never a good thing, at least not in betting. There is greed in sin and sin in sorrow.
