Choose a friend who will find you in heaven!....

Hasan Basri Rah. wrote that

A man will go to hell. He who had a good friend will go to heaven. The heavenly friend will reminisce about the time when he was on earth. Then he will remember his friend. So he will ask the angels,

"I don't see my friend in heaven, where is he?"

It will be said, "He is in hell".

Then that Paradise friend will say to Allah, 'O my Lord! I miss my friend so much. Without him, the joy of paradise is not complete for me!'

Then Allah Ta'ala will say to the angels, "Hurry up, take that hellish friend out of hell and match him with his heavenly friend."

Seeing this amazing scene, the rest of the people of hell will want to know, 'Why was he released from hell, is his father a martyr? Is his brother a martyr? Has any angel or prophet interceded for him?'

Jahanamis will continue to make many such questions and comments. Because, the matter will then be preached in the hell that is being released from the hell without any recommendation!

Then they will be told in response to these questions, 'No, rather the good friend he had in the world, that friend remembered him in Paradise. Asked about him. So Allah Ta'ala is rescuing this hellish person from hell to fulfill his paradise servant's hope.

After hearing this, the people of Hell will regret and say, 'Alas! Alas, there is no intercessor for us today! We have no such true friend!' (Tafsir Bhāgvi 371)

After describing the incident, Hasan Basri said. He said, This is why Allah Ta'ala said that on that day the people of hell will say,

Today we have no intercessor and no benevolent friend. (Surah Ash-Shu'ara 100, 101)

See, the man was saved from hell not because he prayed all night or read the Quran, gave more sadaqah, fasted day after day! Rather, he was released only because his friend remembered him. He was released from hell for the sake of his heavenly friend's honor.

এমন বন্ধু নির্বাচন করুন, যে আপনাকে না পেলে জান্নাতে খুঁজবে!....

হাসান বসরি রহ. লিখেন যে, 

এক লোক জাহান্নামি হয়ে যাবে। যার এক বন্ধু ছিল ভালো, যে জান্নাতে যাবে। জান্নাতি বন্ধু পৃথিবীতে থাকাকালীন সময়কার স্মৃতিচারণ করবে। তখন তার বন্ধুর কথা মনে পড়ে যাবে। তাই সে ফেরেশতাদের জিজ্ঞেস করবে,

‘আমি তো আমার সেই বন্ধুকে জান্নাতে দেখছি না, সে কোথায়?’ 

বলা হবে, ‘সে তো জাহান্নামে’। 

তখন সেই জান্নাতি বন্ধু আল্লাহর কাছে বলবে, ‘হে আমার রব! আমার বন্ধুকে খুব মিস করছি। তাকে ছাড়া আমার কাছে জান্নাতের আনন্দ যে পরিপূর্ণ হচ্ছে না!’

তখন আল্লাহ তাআলা ফেরেশতাদের বলবেন, ‘তাড়াতাড়ি ওই জাহান্নামি বন্ধুটাকে জাহান্নাম থেকে বের কর তার জান্নাতি বন্ধুর সঙ্গে মিলিয়ে দাও।’

এই অবাককরা দৃশ্য দেখে জাহান্নামের বাকি লোকগুলো জানতে চাইবে, ‘কী কারণে তাকে জাহান্নাম থেকে মুক্তি দেয়া হল, তার বাবা কি শহিদ? তার ভাই কি শহিদ? তার জন্য কি কোন ফেরেশতা বা নবী সুপারিশ করেছেন?’

জাহান্নামিরা এজাতীয় বহু প্রশ্ন ও মন্তব্য করতে থাকবে। কেননা, বিষয়টা তখন জাহান্নামের মধ্যে প্রচার হয়ে যাবে যে, কোনো সুপারিশ ছাড়া জাহান্নাম থেকে মুক্তি পেয়ে যাচ্ছে!

তখন তাদের এসব প্রশ্নের জবাবে বলা হবে, ‘না, বরং দুনিয়াতে তার যে নেককার বন্ধু ছিল, সেই বন্ধু জান্নাতে তার কথা স্মরণ করেছে। তার কথা জিজ্ঞেস করেছে। তাই আল্লাহ তাআলা তার জান্নাতি বান্দার আশা পূর্ণ করার জন্য এই জাহান্নামিটাকে জাহান্নাম থেকে উদ্ধার করে নিয়ে যাচ্ছেন।’

এই কথা শুনে জাহান্নামিরা আফসোস করে বলবে, ‘হায়! আজ আমাদের জন্য কোন সুপারিশকারী নেই হায়! আমাদের এমন কোনো সত্যিকারের বন্ধু নেই!’ (তাফসিরে বগভি ৩৭১)

উক্ত ঘটনা বর্ণনা করার পর হাসান বসরি রহ. বলেন, এই কারণেই আল্লাহ তাআলা বলেছেন যে, সেদিন জাহান্নামিরা বলবে,

আজ আমাদের না আছে কোনো সুপারিশকারী এবং না আছে কোনো সুহৃদয় বন্ধু। (সূরা আশ-শুআ’রা ১০০, ১০১)

দেখুন, লোকটি জাহান্নাম থেকে রক্ষা পেল এই কারণে নয় যে, সে রাতভর ইবাদত করত কিংবা কুরআন পড়ত, বেশি বেশি সাদাকাহ করত, দিনের পর দিন রোজা রাখত! বরং সে মুক্তি পেল কেবলই এই কারণে যে তার বন্ধু তাকে স্মরণ করেছে। তার জান্নাতি বন্ধুর সম্মানের খাতিরে তাকে জাহান্নাম থেকে মুক্তি দেয়া হয়েছে।
